RYAN Taylor will make his first Premier League start in 32 months this afternoon.

Taylor has been named in Newcastle United’s starting XI for this afternoon’s home game against Queens Park Rangers (3pm kick-off).

The 30-year-old was sidelined for more than two years after twice rupturing his cruciate ligament.

His last league start came in the Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland on March 4, 2012.

Taylor replaces the injured Mehdi Abeid in Alan Pardew’s three-man midfield.

Midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been handed the captain’s armband in the absence through injury of Fabricio Coloccini.

Defender Remie Streete, from South Shields, is on the bench.

Former Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton captain’s QPR.
