COMEBACK star Ryan Taylor described Newcastle United’s win against Manchester City tonight as a ‘dream come true’.
Taylor played the full 90 minutes after starting a first-team game for the first time since August 2012, as goals from Rolando Aarons and Moussa Sissoko gave the Magpies a 2-0 win.
The versatile star has been out with two cruciate knee injuries, but played his part in a well-deserved victory to knock holders City out of the Capital One Cup.
He said: “It’s a dream come true tonight.
“Two years of hard graft has paid off.
“What a performance that was.”
Taylor started off in midfield, but was switched to right-back in the second half after Daryl Janmaat was withdrawn.
He added: “All that time in the gym on my own, there til 4pm from 7am, it’s all worth it.
“To get my pads and boots back on has been a dream come true.”
