Former club West Brom, where Gayle netted 24 goals in 2018/19, are also thought to be interested.

And according to reports from Yorkshire, the Magpies have named their asking price for anyone wanting Gayle this month, on loan or on a preferred permanent transfer.

Reports stated United want to recoup £20million for Gayle, who has started just one game for United this season.

As well as that, United are reportedly wanting a loan fee, to take the player in January, as well as an obligatory buy clause at the end. Any team wanting to loan Gayle would also have to pick up a substantial percentage of his £50,000-per-week-plus wages.
