NEWCASTLE United manager Alan Pardew has described new England striker Saido Berahino as “outstanding” ahead of his side’s clash with West Brom this weekend.
Berahino has been in terrific form so far this season, and the 21-year-old was rewarded with a first call-up to Roy Hodgson’s senior squad today.
Pardew knows his team will have to keep a watchful eye on the forward, who scored the winner against United from the penalty spot at the Hawthorns last season.
However, he has a plan to stop Berahino as Newcastle go in search of a fifth win in a row on the back of Saturday’s 1-0 triumph against Liverpool.
He said: “It will be a different type of game.
“They have an outstanding player in Berahino, and we need to take care of him.
“If we take care of him like we did (Raheem) Sterling on Saturday, we’ll be OK.”
