The former Liverpool and Atletico Madrid right back signed for the Magpies on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee in 2017.

However, Spaniard’s future is now up in the air, with the 26-year-old’s deal at St James’s Park set to expire this summer.

And according to Estadio Deportivo, Manquillo is unlikely to sign a new deal on Tyneside, and has asked about a return to Spain.

Real Betis and Sevilla have registered an interest but West Ham United are willing to offer him the chance to remain in the Premier League.

Hammers boss David Moyes has previously worked with the full-back having signed him on loan for Sunderland at the beginning of the Black Cats’ 2016/17 relegation season.
