The 21-year-old held talks with the Serie A club last summer before putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal with his boyhood club.

However, Longstaff’s future is hot topic again after he made just five Premier League appearances last season – his last coming in January.

And as per Corriere dello Sport, Udinese have reignited their interest as Longstaff weighs up his next steps.

Meanwhile, Steve Bruce will reportedly make a formal move for Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips.

The Sun claims Bruce will be handed a transfer war chest of £50million.

Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock tops the 60-year-old’s wishlist but Phillips is also said to be viewed as a target.

The national newspaper adds that a formal move is being prepared for Phillips, who is rated at £10million.

He made 20 appearances under Jurgen Klopp last term whilst Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip were sidelined.
