Newcastle United installed as SHOCK favourites to sign £85m four-time Champions League winner

Real Madrid man Gareth Bale – who won La Liga with the Spanish giants earlier this month – is out of favour with manager and club legend Zinedine Zidane.

The former Southampton and Tottenham star has two years left on his contract in the Spanish capital, but there has been some speculation that Bale could join Newcastle United if the Premier League gives the green light to the £300m Saudi-backed takeover.

Although the Welshman’s agent has insisted that will not be leaving Real Madrid and that there is no ‘hatred’ between his client and Zidane, the bookies are still offering odds on which team Bale could join this summer.

Bale joined Real Madrid from Spurs in the summer of 2013, scoring his last goal for the club against Sunderland in a 1-0 win before sealing a then world-record transfer deal of £85m.

Interestingly, though, Bruce’s Magpies are now odds on favourites to land the superstar – with SkyBet offering the short price of 7/2.

However, a raft of Premier League and foreign clubs are also in the running to sign Bale, according to the bookmakers.

The list includes any MLS club (9/2), Manchester United (7/1), Tottenham (8/1), any Chinese club (10/1), Inter Milan (12/1), Juventus (14/1), PSG (14/1), AC Milan (20/1) and Bayern Munich (25/1).
