The Newcastle United defender is out of contract at the club in the summer – and he had demanded “clarity” over his future this month.

"At this moment (I want) some clarity over whether Newcastle want me to stay or whether I can go," said Yedlin. "Whatever it is, it's something that needs to be talked about pretty quickly, because there's six months left on my contract.”

ESPN yesterday reported that a deal had been agreed between Newcastle and Galatasaray. The 27-year-old, it's reported, has been offered a three-and-a-half-year deal by the Istanbul club ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have been linked with a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock.

The 21-year-old midfielder was on the bench against Manchester United at the weekend. National reports suggest he is keen for regular football.
