NEWCASTLE United’s reserve team coach Willie Donachie has been suspended by the club over a dressing-room bust-up.
The club has launched an investigation into an incident which happened immediately after Monday night’s Under-21 defeat to Sunderland.
Newcastle were beaten 2-0 in the Under-21 Premier League fixture at the Stadium of Light.
It is understood that the 62-year-old Donachie was involved in a heated confrontation with one of his players in the dressing room after the game.
United have refused to comment on Donachie’s suspension.
Newcastle appointed Donachie – who had a successful playing career with Manchester City and Scotland – to his role in charge of the Under-21s three years ago.
