RYAN Taylor suffered an injury on what was his first Premier League start in 32 months this afternoon.
Taylor went down unchallenged in Newcastle United’s home game against Queens Park Rangers, which was goalless at the break.
The 30-year-old – who returned from a two-year spell on the sidelines last month with a twice-ruptured cruciate ligament – will have a scan on his knee.
“Ryan will be scanned as soon as possible, and we’ll know more then,” said United manager Alan Pardew.
“The thoughts of myself and all the players are with him.”
Taylor had been handed his first league start since March 2012 in the absence through injury of midfielder Mehdi Abeid.
He was consoled by his team-mates as he sat on the pitch receiving treatment.
Taylor looked to be in tears as he walked off the pitch.
