NEWCASTLE United’s Jamaal Lascelles today trained with England’s senior side.
The defender was called up from the Under-21 squad for this morning’s session at St George’s Park, Burton upon Trent.
England coach Roy Hodgson needed Lascelles and Everton’s Luke Garbutt to make up the numbers.
Lascelles was loaned back to Nottingham Forest for the season after joining the club this summer.
The 20-year-old was called up by Under-21 coach Gareth Southgate for their two-legged play-off against Croatia.
At stake is a place in next years’s European Under-21 Championships.
England play the home leg at Wolverhampton Wanderers’s Molineux home on Friday before travelling to Croatia for the second leg in Vinkovci on Tuesday, October 14.
