NEWCASTLE United will today assess Cheik Tiote, Mike Williamson and Emmanuel Riviere ahead of the club’s visit to White Hart Lane.
The trio sat out last weekend’s 1-0 home win over Leicester City, along with Sammy Ameobi, and they didn’t train in the early part of this week.
But manager Alan Pardew is hopeful they will be available to face Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Tiote, the must significant of the absentees, suffered a muscular injury in the prolonged warm-up for the Leicester game, which kicked off an hour later than plannned because of a safety concerns over St James’s Park’s new TV.
Vurnon Anita is on standby to deputise again should he not prove his fitness.
Meanwhile, Tottenham will mark the 10th anniversary of the passing for the club’s double-winning manager Bill Nicholson before the sold-out match.
Nicholson guided the London club to the league and FA Cup double in the 1960-61 season.
