Steve McClaren has pleaded with Newcastle United fans to judge him at the end of the season – and NOT after 10 games.
The Magpies up the Premier League with eight games played – and there is growing unease on Tyneside.
Winless United desperately need to beat Norwich tomorrow.
McClaren had previously asked supporters not to judge him until 10 games had been played.
But the under-pressure head coach, mindful that the judgement of many is likely to be damning unless Newcastle dramatically improve against Norwich – and Sunderland next weekend – wants more time to turn the club around.
“I think I’m judged every week, and I’ll be judged again on Sunday night,” said McClaren. “Then the next week, and the week after that. You’re judged every day and in every game. I’m not saying judging me after ten, 11, 12 games or whatever. I guess I would say ‘if you’re going to throw things at me, judge me at the end of the season’.”
