ROLANDO Aarons will play again for Newcastle United this season, according to John Carver.
And defender Paul Dummett is edging closer to a comeback.
There were fears that Aarons’ season was over when he suffered a setback earlier this month.
The winger has been sidelined for five months with hamstring and thigh injuries.
While a scan showed no damage to his hamstring, the club will tread “carefully” with Aarons, who had an explosive impact in the early part of the season.
Defender Dummett, meanwhile, is back in training after a two-month spell out with a knee problem, but won’t be involved against Swansea City at St James’s Park this afternoon.
“We have Rolando Aarons back in full training, and we’ve had Paul Dummett in training with us,” said head coach John Carver.
“They will be back in on Monday. Having two or three players back in and around the place has given us a huge boost.
“Dummett will not be on the bench (against Swansea).
“Rolando has had one full session with us, so we have to take things carefully.
“But Rolando’s certainly not out for the rest of the season.”
