The striker scored a remarkable opener in his side’s 3-0 cup win over Dover Athletic – his 13th goal of a prolific season to date.

Toney was sold by United in the summer of 2018, with Posh picking up the player for around £350,000.

The 23-year-old is thought to be rated at around £13million by Peterborough with the likes of Bournemouth interested in a January move.
