Defender has this classy message for Newcastle United fans after Galatasaray move
DeAndre Yedlin’s said a fond farewell to Newcastle United – and the club’s fans.
The defender today joined Galatasaray on a free transfer ahead of the summer expiry of his contract at St James’s Park.
Yedlin, 27, said on Instagram: "Been a pleasure. Made some great friends and memories over the last 4.5 years! Love to the fans for making me feel welcome from day 1! Wish nothing but the best for the club in the future! Toon Toon!”
Yedlin joined Newcastle from Tottenham Hotspur in 2016.
United head coach Steve Bruce said: “Quite simply we’ve had three right-backs at the club now, and I think DeAndre’s suited to playing as a wing-back. It’s been no secret that we’ve been trying to change to a back four for a while now. I’d like to wish DeAndre the very best of luck in Turkey. He’s a great pro and a great lad.”
