MATHIEU Debuchy is edging closer to his Newcastle United comeback.
The defender will return to training next week ahead of the visit of Swansea City to St James’s Park on April 19.
Forward Loic Remy – who has lost his battle to be fit for tomorrow’s visit to Stoke City – is pencilled in to return against Gary Monk’s side.
Debuchy (groin) and Remy (calf) have missed the club’s last five Premier League games.
“Remy won’t make this game, but we’d like to think he’ll make the next one,” said Pardew.
Midfielder Moussa Sissoko – who suffered a hamstring problem in the defeat to Southampton late last month – won’t be fit to face Swansea.
However, there was better news on goalkeeper Tim Krul, who Pardew is hopeful will be fit to face Stoke.
Krul has missed Newcastle’s last two games with a knee injury.
“Tim’s been training,” said Pardew. “I think he’s got a chance of playing.”
