JERMAIN Defoe looks set to return to the Premier League – with Queens Park Rangers his most likely destination.
But Newcastle United have also been linked with the 31-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur striker, who only joined Toronto FC this year.
TFC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko confirmed yesterday that the Major League Soccer club had received an offer from a Premier League club.
Bezbatchenko said: “We have a relationship with Jermain.
“We’re speaking with him, and we’ll make a decision.
“No decision has been made. We’ll discuss it over the next 24 hours.”
Defoe has previously target been a target for Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, and Talksport have claimed that the club has renewed its interest.
But the odds are seemingly stacked in favour of him linking up with again with Harry Redknapp at QPR.
