Cheick Tiote has suffered an injury in this afternoon's game against Leicester City.

The Newcastle United midfielder was forced off at St James's Park with what looked like a groin problem with the score still goalless.

Tiote went down in pain after twisting awkwardly.

The 29-year-old initially attempted to play on, but was quickly replaced by Florian Thauvin.

United head coach Steve McClaren is already without Tiote's midfield colleague Jack Colback, who is recovering from a knee injury.

La Marseillaise, the French national anthem, was played before kick-off to honour those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in Paris last week.
