JOE Kinnear is adamant that Yohan Cabaye will stay at Newcastle United.
Big-spending Monaco have been heavily linked with a move for the France midfielder.
But Newcastle have not had any contact from the French club – and new director of football Kinnear has warned them off a bid for Cabaye.
The 27-year-old is under contract for three more years, and Kinnear insists Newcastle have no intention of selling Cabaye – or any of the club’s other “top stars”.
“He will stay,” said Cabaye. “We’ve got him under contract, and we want to keep all of our top players here.
“We don’t feel we have to sell our top stars.”
Kinnear yesterday claimed he will have the final say on incoming and outgoing transfers, though he insisted decisions would only be taken after discussions with manager Alan Pardew and chief scout Graham Carr.
