Wearsider Mitchell Curry clinches pro contract with Middlesbrough

Wearsider Mitchell Curry has signed a professional contract with Middlesbrough.

The 17-year-old striker – a former pupil at Washington’s St Robert of Newminster School – has managed five goals already this season, following on from more than 20 last term, including a goal against French club Reims in the Uefa Youth League.

Boro have also given a pro deal to midfielder Ben Liddle, son of ex-Riverside defender Craig.
