Patrick Bamford has been recalled to the Middlesbrough starting eleven for this afternoon’s Championship play-off final.
The on-loan Chelsea ace, Boro’s top-scorer, was left out of the second-leg semi-final 3-0 victory against Brentford because of an ankle injury sustained at today’s opponents Norwich City.
Bamford replaces Kike, a scorer in the 3-0 success against the Bees, as Aitor Karanka opts for a Jelle Vossen-Bamford partnership.
Dean Whitehead holds down the right-back spot in a team that is otherwise unchanged.
Dimi Konstantopoulos, almost ten years to the day since he suffered play-off final heartache with Hartlepool United, is between the sticks.
Boro: Dimi, Whitehead, Gibson, Ayala, Friend; Leadbitter,Clayton, Tomlin; Adomah, Vossen, Bamford.
Subs: Ripley, Kike, Forshaw, Reach, Amorebita, Nsue, Woodgate
