SUNDERLAND West End were on the receiving end of a five-goals defeat when they visited Ebac Northern League First Division newcomers Crook Town last night.

The Wearsiders though held out until the 50th minute when David Paul headed home. From then on it was all downhill for the visitors as further goals flowed from Matthew Weirs, Richard Hodgson, Alex Marshall and Craig Price.

Durham City comfortably saw off the challenge from Esh Winning at Waterhouses, winning 3-0 with strikes by Max Stoker, Adam Ingram and Nick Allen.

FA Carlsberg Vase winners Spennymoor Town eventually proved too strong for plucky ENL Second Division side Stokesley SC who conceded two goals to Mark Davison.
