Wearside League: Morris in as Easington look to close the gap

EASINGTON Colliery will close the gap on Wearside League leaders Stockton Town to six points if they defeat Whitehaven at Welfare Park tomorrow.

Manager Paul Frame has signed Kyle Morris from Sunderland RCA and former Hartlepool captain Shane O’Brien.

The pair go straight into the squad along with the returning Jordan Thompson, Ian Redman and Dale Spence. Karl Adams, Liam Beeston and Michael Turnbull are on the Colliers’ injured list. A big blow is news that Lewis Lynch and Connor Walker will not be available in the foreseeable future because of work commitments.

Harton and Westoe, who have conceded 68 goals in 16 games head to Richmond Town where they miss Gary Dadd and Mark Smith, but Shaun Edwards, Kevin Garrick, Jon Armstrong, Adam Ward, Ricky Brown and Jack Burrell resume.

Leam Rangers host Prudhoe Town.

Leam go without suspended pair Leon Kane and Liam Davidson together with injured trio Jordan Hutchinson, Andy Townend and Gavin Williams. Prudhoe have Stephen Forster banned, but their only other absentee is Kevin Moreland.
