After losing their first four games, Silksworth CW have come good with two wins and a draw from their last three fixtures.
They moved out of the bottom two with last night’s hard-earned 2-1 victory at home to Whitehaven.
Mark Davison broke the deadlock on 67 minutes with a fierce shot from 20 yards which gave visitors goalkeeper Ian Studholm no chance, but, within nine minutes, Kevin Connolly levelled.
Two minutes later, Whitehaven had Craig Johnston sent off and the Colliers made the numerical advantage count.
With only eight minutes to go, Rob Hall produced a tremendous finish from 30 yards which flew into the top corner of the net, wide of Studholm.
Harton and Westoe CW and Wolviston ended goalless, but, in a game when few chances were created, Harton almost snatched victory when David Bulman hit the crossbar.
