SEAHAM Red Star have signed South Shields pair Sean Sweeney and Ivan Stoyanov to bolster their promotion challenge in Division Two of the Ebac Northern League, as reported in the weekend Football Echo.
Striker Sweeney could make his debut in Wednesday’s Durham Challenge Cup tie at Shildon, though Stoyanov is home in Bulgaria, having a trial at Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
Seaham manager Mark Collingwood said: “Sean is a direct centre-forward who I know will score goals in this side. His signing will keep the forwards here on their toes and give the place the lift I feel it needs.
“He is, in my opinion, not only a great addition to the squad but also one of the best strikers in the Northern League.”
H Former Hartlepool United and Luton striker Adam Boyd (pictured below) has joined Ebac Northern League Division One high-fliers Spennymoor Town.
Moors have agreed an initial non-contract deal with the 30-year-old, who has had stints at Celtic Nation and Lincoln City already this season.
Manager Jason Ainsley said: “Adam has already fitted in well with the lads and the most pleasing thing is he has proved he’s with us for the right reasons
“He’s accepted a non-contract deal which is within our financial structure, and he knows he has to earn the 18-month contract which is on the table if he does the business.”
