THE Victory Club recorded a great 3-1 win over title favourites Farringdon Detached in Division Two.

Steven Robson put Victory in front early on, but Farringdon bounced back with a Liam Ramshaw goal. Farringdon were desperate to win to maintain their lead at the top, but it wasn’t to be.

Star man Robert Calvert ran Farra’s defence ragged and he finished the game with a well-taken brace to seal the points, and drop Detached into second place. Rhys Brown stood out for Detached.

The Vane Arms’ fantastic form continued with an easy 4-0 win at Willow Pond.

Vane have the title in their sights and with a few good recent signings, including experienced Premier keeper Gavin Donnelly and goal machine Martin Hope, has given them fresh impetus.

Adam Wasey and Adam Cushingham both scored braces to send Vane top of the league. Paul Carter was Vane’s star man, with Smith best for Willow.

Mill View CIU made hard work of their 5-4 win over Pennywell Comrades. After taking the lead, they let Pennywell back in to level things. But Mill View did manage to go one better by the final whistle, thanks to strikes from Alhajeri, Tate, Charlton and Conlin (2).

The Royal Marine edged a 2-1 Roker derby success against Harbour View.

Star man Marc Robson ran the show for Marine and found the net in the process.Harbour View equaliser, but Mark Atchison popped up with Marine’s winner.

Hylton Road Carpets Elite just can’t seem to string a few wins together to push for promotion, and Lakeside SSC halted their progress with a 2-2 draw at Hylton Road.

Elite struck first, Gav Murton netting, but Iain Usher poked home to level. LiamWooton restored Elite’s lead with a great finish, but Lakeside pushed on and Usher forced a late equaliser.

Oddies defeated Welcome Tavern 6-3.
