Silksworth CW switch to avoid Sunderland semi

WITH Sunderland playing their cup semi-final at Manchester United tomorrow, Slksworth CW have brought forward their Wearside League fixture against Richmond Town to tonight (7.45 pm).

“Sunderland fans will be able to watch the game and we’ll certainly have a bigger gate,” observed Colliers secretary David Steele.

A close result isexpected with Silksworth up to seventh – their highest position for a number of years – and Richmond in fifth place.

The home side have Willie Crew and Robert Taylor back in their squad but Craig Lines and John Bowes will need their fitness assessed before manager Mark McGinley finalising his line-up.

Richmond miss Scott Guy, who is struggling with an ankle injury and Simon Pinkney is also unavailable but Gary Sharda and Sean Radford, who shoulder operation has been delayed, come into contention.

Ryhope CW were due to be at home to Wolviston tomorrow but they also sought permission from the league to postpone the fixture, which is now scheduled for a week tomorrow.
