SEAHAM Red Star finished runners-up in the Hebburn LGV Summer Cup after going down 3-1 to Jarrow Roofing.

Newcomer Stephen Young was an early marksman for the South Tynesiders but within two minutes, Shaun Reay drove home from the penalty spot.

Before the interval, however, Jamie Marshall fired past goalkeeper Shaun Newbrook to restore the lead to Roofing for whom Andrew Appleby netted the vital third goal mid-way through the second half.

Ryhope CW clinched third place following an exciting match with Hebburn Town.

Regular marksman John Butler scored in normal time and with the scores level at 1-1 it was Martin Swales’ side who won the penalty shoot out 4-3.

Clayton Davis, Callum Charlton, Nathan O’Neill and James Dunn all scored from the spot.

Harton and Westoe defeated Hebburn Reyrolle 4-2 to end fifth in the six-team tournament.
