Ryhope hope to beat Boldon and close gap at the top of the Wearside League

Have your say

RYHOPE CW have the chance to close the gap on Wearside League leaders Easington Colliery but they could find it difficult against rejuvenated Boldon CA tonight.

The South Tynesiders’ have had three consecutive wins during which they scored no fewer than 16 goals and now have manager Michael Reay looking for a mid-table finish.

Ryhope are fighting for the Championship but trail Easington by 12 points although they have two games in hand.

A double blow for manager Martin Swales is the absence of Lenny French and John Butler. Neal Atkinson and Clayton Davis return to the squad.

Boldon have no selection concerns and Reay will announce his line-up shortly before kick off.

Silksworth are fifth from the bottom ahead of the visit from Hartlepool.

Boss Steven Smith cannot name Michael Renshaw, Jonathon Fox, Paul Carr, Mark Robinson or Neil Whiskins.

Patrick Smith, Smith’s 67th transfer during his 50 games in charge, could be handed his debut.

Hartlepool are hoping for the return of Danny Butler but Shaun Atkinson is doubtful.

Houghton Town have slipped to fourth from the basement and will need to tighten up at the back if they are to arrest a losing sequence when they host Cleator Moor Celtic at Leyburn Grove.

Alex Patton, out all season with a knee injury, is set to make his comeback.

Simon Williamson is definitely included while news is awaited on the availability of Ross Kennedy and Andrew Gartland.

Jarrow go to Darlington Cleveland Bridge and manager Dave Bell is pleased to have Stephen Cockburn, Liam Clark and Andy Wilkinson on his team sheet.

Anthony McLachlan will not play again this season after suffering an ankle injury at the weekend. Also missing tonight are Gary Buckley and Stephen Wake.

Prudhoe Town will include newcomers Stephen Burrows and Shaun Banks at home to Willington who again miss Wayne Dobinson and Andrew Stocks.
