Ryhope CW hope to make up ground

Have your say

RYHOPE CW, who were without a fixture at the weekend, aim to close the gap on the Wearside League leaders Redcar Athletic when they line up against Ashbrooke Belford House at the Recreation Ground tonight.

Martin Swales’ side trail Redcar by eight points, but have four games in hand on the Seasiders.

A triple blow for Swales is the unavailability of club captain Phil Hall, John Butler and Jordan Thompson, who are working.

Fortunately, Dean Arkle and James Dunn return but Greg Swansbury, Grant Butler and Nathan O’Neil will need their fitness assessed before Swales announces his squad.

Ashbrooke boss Tommy Dobbing also has selection concerns with Stephen Dickinson definitely ruled out.

Michael Chartlon and Paul Robertson are back and Dobbing could hand a debut to Kyle Anderson.

Sunderland West End aim to make it 12 wins on the bounce against Cleator Moor Celtic.

“We are having a fantastic season and are now in the top six with games in hand on four of the team above us.

“Our objective is to win as many games as possible and see where we end” said joint manager Steve Patton.

West End are without Stephen Robson and Neil Maddison, who are both working and Gavin Dorwood is struggling with an injury, but Lloyd Conlon is back.

The game has been switched to Silksworth because there are no floodlights at West End’s Ford Quarry Complex.
