RYHOPE CW reduced Easington Colliery’s lead in the Wearside League to just six points with a comfortable 3-0 win over neighbours Ashbrooke Belford House at Silksworth last night.

Nathan Johnson headed past goalkeeper Brett Wilson after 25 minutes but it was not until late in the game that Ryhope made certain of three crucial points.

Johnny Davis fired into the net on 75 minutes and soon afterwards Paul Taylor also struck. Ryhope have a game in hand on Easington.

Boldon CA just edged Jarrow, who had Liam Clark sent off after only 10 minutes, in the local derby at Perth Green.

Chris Robertson headed Boldon in front and before the interval Paul Terrell equalised.

Boldon then went 3-1 ahead through Finbar Lynch and Shaun Reay and just before the end Terrell was again on target to set up an exciting finale.
