Ryhope aim to close in on league leaders

RYHOPE CW have the opportunity to reduce Crook Town’s lead at the top of the division to just three points when they host lowly Whickham tonight.

Manager Martin Swales is forced to make changes to the side which won at the weekend since Chris Rookes, Clayton Davis and Nathan Johnson are ruled out. Lenny French and James Dunn are added to the squad.

North Shields, who jumped into fourth place with Saturday’s victory over Crook Town, start favourites at home to Thornaby who are now eighth from the bottom when only recently they looked like being sucked into the relegation zone.

In Division One, Darlington 1883 will be looking for a big win at the expense of bottom of the table Norton and Stockton Ancients who suffered a six goals hammering on Monday night.

Seaham Red Star line up at improving West Allotment Celtic in the second round of the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup. With Shaun Newbrook ruled out with an ankle injury, Paul McSween will deputise and there is also a chance of Chris Goss and Shaun Sweeney making the squad.
