Red Star fight back to beat Ryhope

Have your say

SEAHAM Red Star came from behind to defeat Ryhope CW in the second division local derby.

Jack Pounder’s 12-yard strike had Ryhope ahead for 45 minutes before Josh Home Jackson headed in a David Palmer cross.

With 13 minutes left on the clock, Liam McBryde gave Red Star the lead, beating goalkeeper Chris Rookes from a Tommy English centre and in the last minute Ryhope’s hopes ended as Lee Chapman went past three defenders and clinically finished into the corner of the net.
