EASINGTON Colliery, runners-up to Wearside League champions Stockton Town, went nap against Annfield Plain at Welfare Park last night.

John Quinn was an early marksman for the visitors, but the Colliers then roared into a 4-1 lead when Brett Gillatt and David Paul each bagged a brace of goals.

Although Stephen Burrows reduced Annfield’s deficit from the penalty spot, prolific marksman Paul completed his hat-trick and a 5-2 win for Paul Frame’s team in their penultimate match.

Prudhoe Town were another side to score first when Andrew Clarkson struck at Spennymoor Town Reserves, who then romped to a 7-1 victory with goals by Connor Dunleavy (3), Ross Morrow (2), Chris Lowther and Peter Brown.

Champions Stockton hit Wolviston for six thanks to a Matthew Garbutt hat-trick, with Alan Cossavella, James Ward and Max Craggs also netting.

An only goal by Craig Scott after 84 minutes proved sufficient for Cleator Moor Celtic at Richmond Town and the Cumbrians end third.
