ASHBROOKE Belford House hope to hand a Wearside League debut to defender Luke Olabode in tomorrow’s derby at Sunderland West End, writes MALCOLM PRATT.
Olabode has joined from Consett and is ready for his bow at Ford Quarry. Kenny Taylor, Martin Deacon, Michael Melmore and Kyle Anderson also come into the plans of manager Tommy Dobbing, who misses Mark Egglestone, Paul Robertson or Lee Scott.
Liam Gettings, Johnny Greener and keeper Scott Young come into contention for West End, who must do without Darren George, Gav Dorward and Chris Pearson.
It’s all change for Peterlee Town at Jarrow. Brett Gillat and captain Michael Noble are suspended, with Craig McManus, Ryan Mather and Darren Davie also unavailable.
Liam Dunn, Anth Hazard and Paul Taylor are included in an 18-man squad, with Lee Burrell or Kyle Donaldson fighting for the goalkeeper’s jersey.
In contrast, neighbours Easington Colliery’s only absentee at home to Boldon CA is the banned Carl Winspeare. Kris Robinson, last season’s leading scorer, is back in training and will undergo a fitness test for Boldon, who hope that Jonathan Gage will play.
Silksworth Rangers will make a second attempt to conclude their Monkwearmouth Cup tie with Annfield Plain. The original game was abandoned following an injury to Silksworth’s Gary Tyzack.
Rangers, who have conceded 10 goals in the last two games, will decide between John McLean and Adam Don for the goalkeeper’s jersey.
McLean has failed to complete the last two matches. He had to be substituted because of an injury, then, last weekend, was sent off for a professional foul.
Michael Renshaw and Glen Hargreaves are injured, but Paul Muir and Keith Stafford are expected to make the Silksworth starting line-up.
Annfield Plain, who were 3-1 up in the original tie, welcome back Liam Dixon and Alex Downey.
Harton and Westoe, who visit Darlington Cleveland Bridge, have lost Keith Oliver to Jarrow Roofing. Andy Hunter, Gary Dadd and Stephen Telford, signed from Birtley Town, are expected to play a part at some stage.
Leam Rangers miss the suspended Andy Hebron and David Ridley, who is away, for Stockton Town’s visit.
Boss Alan Cairns has left Coxhoe Athletic and secretary Paul Charlton and Kevin Owens take charge of the side for the Durham FA Trophy game against Billingham Town Intermediates.
