SUNDERLAND Women held their annual awards at Quinn’s Sports Bar at the Stadium of Light on Saturday night.

The club celebrated another successful season, completing a hat-trick of FA National Premier League titles, and they are now looking forward to joining the FA Women’s Super League in March next year.

Manager Mick Mulhern’s Player of the Year award was a joint decision, going to top scorer Beth Mead and captain Steph Bannon.

The Players’ Player of the year award went to goalkeeper Rachael Laws, while Abbey Joice was named Most Improved Player.

Reserve team awards went to Megan Beer (Manager’s Player), Jane Riddell (Players’ Player) and Jordan Atkinson (Top Goalscorer).
