DURHAM Women were beaten 7-0 by Manchester City at New Ferens Park today.
The visitors, who will play in the top division of the Super League this season, showed their class from the start and could have been clear inside ten minutes but for three fine saves from Danielle Hill.
Durham - elected to FA WSL2 this season - struggled as an attacking force, with City dominating in midfield.
After opening the scoring on 26 minutes, England striker Toni Duggan went on to complete a hat-trick.
Wearsiders Jill Scott and Steph Houghton were also on the scoresheet, alongside Betsy Hassett and Dannii Young.
