Lee Collings not getting carried away with Durham City’s form

Have your say

DESPITE having won their last two games and scoring 10 goals, Durham City joint-manager Lee Collings is not getting carried away and insists his side is still on a learning curve.

Ahead of tomorrow’s Evo Stik League Division One North game at Mossley, he said: “It was great to score four times against Wakefield and put another six past Salford City, but we cannot get carried away.

“We know that the ability is there, but we’ve got to build a bit of consistency, especially away from home and some of the younger lads are still learning.

“Defensively we have tightened up and hopefully we can go on a bit of a run. Only if we rack up a few more wins can we say with confidence that we are on the right track for next season.”

David Dowson has now fully recovered from illness and takes his place in a 19-strong squad.

The only doubt surrounds goalkeeper James Winter, who is struggling with a side strain, but Lewis Graham excelled when he deputised last week and could well hold his place.
