Last ever match in the Wearside Combination League tomorrow

Have your say

THE last ever Wearside Combination League match will be played at Herrington CW tomorrow.

Hall Farm will tackle University of Sunderland, with a 2pm kick-off, in what is sure to be a sombre occasion for officials and followers of the league, which has been running for 70 years but is closing down due to a lack of teams for next season.

Spectators are more than welcome to attend.

Jamie Snowdon has the honour of refereeing the big match.

The sides met last week, with Hall Farm running out 5-1 victors away to the students.

Star man Damon Ellis, Alex Mcdonald, Dean Smith, Chris Bewick and Lee Pearce did the damage for Farm, who will finish only two points behind champions Hendon if they win tomorrow.
