RYHOPE CW boss Martin Swales is hoping to add to his squad in time for the visit of Jarrow Roofing in Division Two, especially as key players Greg Swansbury, Nathan O’Neill, Dean Arkley and Kevin Dixon all miss out.

Chris Rookes, Richie Jordan, Nathan Johnson and Richie Playforth come into the plans of Swales who has led the Wearsiders into a six-point lead.

Jarrow Roofing defeated First Division Norton and Stockton Ancients in the FA Carlsberg Vase on Tuesday but their first priority is promotion.

They are in eighth place, just four points outside the last promotion place and manager Richie McLoughlin is pleased to have Chris Hepple back since Keith Oliver, Jamie Marshall and Andrew Innes are injured.

Seaham Red Star are seventh ahead of their game at Alnwick Town where manager Mark Collingwood is without the suspended Craig Malley and Kevin Gordon but Chris Scott, Peter Bryson and Adam Drysdale could all resume.

Chester-le-Street have re-signed former player Sam Renwick but he’s unavailable against Brandon United when Mark Patterson, brought in from Consett, is expected to start.

Horden CW are at home to North Shields missing suspended pair Stephen Carruthers and Tom Wilkie. Manager Peter Mulcaster will need to check on the fitness of Craig Ferguson, John Pyle and Andrew Upperton before finalising his line up.

North Shields are now managed by Graham Fenton who played for Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa. Although the Robins are minus Keith Douglas, Joe Elliott and Femi Akinbolu, Kevin Hughes could play for on the second time this season.

Birtley Town manager Scott Oliver is looking for a vastly improved performance against West Allotment Celtic. He said: “We were awful against Ryhope CW and need to do better but we are again under strength missing Matt Hornsby and I’ve got doubts for injured pair Gary Bailes and Jack Quantrill.
