Jarrow look to halt Easington Colliery in the Wearside League

JARROW, who have performed well against the leading sides, aim to halt Easington Colliery’s march towards the Wearside League championship tonight.

Manager Dave Bell said: “We beat third-top Ryhope CW last week and are now in the top six. It won’t be easy at Easington, but we have matched the best and I’m confident we’ll give them a good game.”

Jarrow await news on the fitness of Christie Elliott and Daryl Donnolly while the unbeaten Colliers expect Andy Hall to return. Their only doubt is striker Adam McGuinness (groin).

Houghton Town joint managers Anthony Cooper and Stephen Patton are set to hand David Bond his home debut against Hartlepool.

“David came on as a sub on Saturday and made a huge difference. He’s certainly in line for a start tonight,” reported Cooper who is pleased that Brad Freeman, Michael Curtis, Liam Milburn and Chris Curtis can play.

Sillksworth have a near full strength squad available for the visit of in-form Kirkbymoorside. Their only absentee is Chris Crombie (back). Calvin Magnus, signed from Ryhope CW, is included.

In the Wearside League Cup, Ryhope CW host Annfield Plain without suspended pair James Dunn and Richard Jordan. Phil Hall, Martin Metclafe and David Newby are rated doubtful.
