IN A bid to reduce a fixture backlog, Wearside League teams Houghton Town and Redcar Athletic have hurriedly arranged to play at Leyburn Grove tonight.
Although Houghton have played 26 games, Redcar have managed only 19 and their secretary Kevin Fryett is grateful to tonight’s hosts for pencilling in the fixture.
He said: “We are way behind. The League hadn’t arranged any games for tonight but Houghton were willing to play which will help us come the end of the season.”
The home side welcome back Chris Curtis and Ian McPherson while the Seasiders hope to include Greg Booth, Andy Bell and Craig Skelton.
