GATESHEAD boss Gary Mills is already plotting another promotion assault next season – after the disappointment of yesterday’s Skrill Conference play-off final defeat.
Mills, whose side went down 2-1 to Cambridge United at Wembley to dash their hopes of a return to the Football League 54 years after their controversial relegation, will take a break before focusing on taking Gateshead up at the second attempt next season.
“We’ve had a knock,” said Mills. “We’ve lost at Wembley, now it’s about bouncing back for next season.”
Liam Hughes and Ryan Donaldson put the U’s two up before Jack Lester replied.
