FOUR former Sunderland players have been named in new England women’s boss Mark Simpson’s first squad selection.

Sampson has unveiled a 30-strong squad for next month’s training camp in La Manga, with Steph Houghton, Jill Scott, Lucy Bronze and Jordan Nobbs all included.

Sampson has brought in uncapped Arsenal duo Gilly Flaherty and Danielle Carter, whilst there is also a place in the group for US-based Boston Breakers striker Lianne Sanderson who has been missing since a fall-out with former coach Hope Powell.

England may arrange a friendly at the end of the camp in Spain, looking ahead to the resumption of their World Cup qualifying campaign against Montenegro on April 5.
