Durham City urged to cut out errors

BOSS Dickie Ord is optimistic that Durham City can still make the Evo Stik League Division One North play-offs – providing they stop conceding “silly” goals, writes MALCOLM PRATT.

Ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Bamber Bridge, Ord – whose City side are 10th – said: “We go into tomorrow’s game on the back of two successive victories. They were brilliant results, but I was unhappy at the way we leaked a couple of goals against Trafford.

“We were brilliant in the first half and terrible in the second. I never know what I’m going to get. I asked for a clean sheet but it didn’t materialise.

“We really do need to tighten up at the back.”

On Bamber Bridge, he added: “They are flying but are just one point and one place ahead of us. A win could take us to seventh and give us a real chance of making an impact in the final run-in.”

Ord’s only doubt is an ankle injury to James Winter.
