DURHAM City dominated the Evo-Stik League Division One North game against Harrogate RA at the Esh Group stadium but their failure to convert numerous scoring opportunities cost them two points.
As early as the second minute RA goalkeeper Craig Perry made a fantastic save to deny David Dowson and shortly afterwards, Andrew Stephenson set up Dowson but Parry again came to his side’s rescue.
Evann Graham headed wide but Durham eventually did find the net in the 53rd minute when Dowson gave Parry no chance.
City immediately fell back and looked nervous. It was not surprising when Harrogate equalised as Dan Husband headed in a corner through a crowded goalmouth.
The game became scrappy but even so Durham had the better chances and should really have claimed all three points.
Just before the end, Stephenson fired over and Dowson could only find the side netting before, in the last attack, Thompson cut inside only to fire wide from a good position.
City will certainly feel that it was two points lost rather than one gained.
