Difficult start for Ashbrooke

ASHBROOKE Belford House have been handed three tough draws in the Wearside League’s domestic cup competitions.

The Silksworth-based club host Whitehaven, newly relegated out of the Northern League on a technicality, in the Shipowners Cup first round, and they host Easington Colliery, who have ambitions for a much-improved campaign this season, in the League Cup.

Belford also have a daunting task in the Monkwearmouth Cup, drawn away to defending league champions Stockton Town.
