Brischuk, Payne give Horden lift for cup clash

HORDEN CW make the short journey to Hartlepool in the Monkwearmouth Cup tomorrow (2pm), strengthened by the inclusion of Mark Brischuk and Jonny Payne.

Paul Moss and Darren Atkinson, who are close to full fitness, will also play a part at some stage, but neither Carl Thomas nor Ryan Brymer can play.

Hartlepool miss the injured Paul Donaghue with an ankle injury and Shane O’Brien’s shoulder injury makes him a doubt. New signing Ian Tumilty could make his first appearance.

Spennymoor Town Reserves are favourites against Annfield Plain, the only side yet to win in the Wearside League this term.

Moors, though, go into the tie minus Conna Jones and James Leeds.

Redcar Athletic will aim to extend a 100 per cent away record at the expense of full-strength Prudhoe Town. The Seasiders are likely to include young teenagers Connor Smith, Ross Harrison and Jordan Kirk.
