Boss urges Durham City to take their chances

DURHAM City face a difficult game at Curzon Ashton tomorrow, but joint manager Lee Collings reckons his side is a match for any Evo-Stik League Division One North team – if they play to their potential.

“It was frightening the number of chances we created and wasted in losing to Warrington on Tuesday night,” he said.

“We were into double figures and I’m not talking about half-chances. They were clear-cut opportunities, but, whether it’s poor finishing or bad luck, we are simply not making them count.

“In training, the lads are scoring goals for fun, but we’ve got to make it happen in games. When we do, we give every side a good match and I know we have the basis of a good side.”

City expect to travel with a 20-strong squad, including recent signing from Shildon, Gary Brown, who missed the midweek game with a thigh injury.
